Destiladora de Agave Azul, one 100% Mexican company, was founded in 1930 during the post-revolution of Mexico in the town of San Juanito de Escobedo who was one of the towns involved, which is located 80 kms. Guadalajara, in central-western state of Jalisco.

Its founder, Don Anselmo Garcia, a visionary merchant who journey for many years on the road to the port of San Blas, Nayarit, observed the characteristic of agave plantations that existed in that region, and that's how the idea came to him transporting the agave to San Juanito de Escobedo.

With his business acumen, led to the tavern "Casa Agave Azul", an ancient place where the agave is distilled and then began the production and marketing of "mezcal" at that time it was called tequila agave.

In the beginning, he only sold hats and then ventured the tequila business, carrying glass bottles protected in a mesh made ​​of the same maguey ixtle called "Amajuana" and covered them with a cob, a purely artisanal process.
Thus, began to expand its borders and captured a captive market in the southern state of Jalisco, Colima, Manzanillo.

In 1930 the tavern was established as a distillery factory, now called "Blue Agave Distillery," his son would inherit Mr. Jesus Garcia, who led other Mexican states the product.
It was at this distillery, which would occur for the first time, a number of tequilas that are still in force in the market as "Don Anselmo", "task", "The Pial" plus tequila "Chulavista", his latest creation .

Concerned meet a demanding public, "Blue Agave Distillery", since 2005 is directed by Jose de Jesus Garcia Garcia, who leads the third generation of tequila from this company, and under this approach, has positioned both markets domestic and international.
